It is an amazing quiet place in the mountain.
It is an amazing quiet place in the mountain. I like visiting in the summer because of the views and hiking opportunities. I prefer staying in areas like Smolyan Lakes rather than the town or Pamporovo as I like to be far from people. There are a lot of hikes and places to visit (with car, short hikes and long ones). It was not my first time in Smolyan but my first time coming...
It was not my first time in Smolyan but my first time coming here alone. I have been mostly in warmer months but I have enjoyed some nice weather as well - I managed to do some proper hiking - going to the Nevyastata area and to the Waterfalls Canyon, as well as exploring the Old Town and the New City center. I should confess that the length of the town is quite challenging even for a person who enjoys walking. I had to take a taxi to go to the Nevyastata but I walked back and it took me more than 2 hours. It was worth it though. Smolyan is a beautiful mountain town in which friendly and helpful people live. Many cafes and restaurants with excellent cuisine. Clean air and great views. We are coming here for the third time, and I am sure that we will come here more than once.

Smolqn is a great city with kind and friendly people.
Smolqn is a great city with kind and friendly people. Many cultural places to visit. The national gallery and the theater are awesome. The near by mountains offer many trail walking possibilities and great scenery. The restaurant Rodopski Kut is very good. If you have the chance go and see also the 600+ year old plane tree.

The bed was great. There was an interactive tv platform called EON. As well as smart tvs in every room so we could watch our favorite series on HBO & NETFLIX before bed. The apartment itself has everything you need and the host is super sweet. Will definitely return to explore the area in the summer as it has a lot to offer. Also, the food and wine at the nearby restaurant are great.

They are an elderly Bulgarian couple and are very sweet and helpful. We ended up with a whole apartment to ourselves with a big kitchen. There's a lovely balcony with view. The area is residential and there was parking on the street outside.
